About this opportunity
Our client is a global accountancy firm based in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, seeking to hire a US Tax Senior. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team with great potential for future progression within the firm.
Responsibilities as a US Tax Senior are as follows:
- Oversee a prestigious portfolio of financial services clients, mainly in Investments (Funds) or Insurance sectors.
- Work on key client issues in domestic federal, international, and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with clients’ business objectives.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing quality, timely, and responsive services and work products.
- Demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts and discuss moderately complex tax issues with engagement team and client management.
- Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
- Accurately analyse information and prepare practical and effective approaches to clients’ tax situations to arrive at appropriate conclusions.
- Share ideas with others and actively contribute to achieving team goals.
- Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans, and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.
- Manage engagements whilst supervising a small team.
- Deliver quality service to clients on budget, on time, and within resources.
- Liaise internally with other key departments within the firm.
- Report to and liaise with Directors and Partners on tax advisory projects.
What you'll need
- You must be a fully qualified CPA (US designation only) or at a minimum have Enrolled Agent status to be considered.
- Possess strong US corporate tax experience already at Senior level, ideally but not necessarily in a Big Four or Top10 accountancy firm.
- Experience of working with financial services clients is desirable.
- Good supervisory, organisational, and communication skills.
- Excellent PC proficiency skills.
